I used to work at Houlihan Lawrence. A wonderful company serving Westchester, and with world-wide affiliations. I now work at Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, another wonderful company with both local and worldwide representation. Beautiful branding that is known on a world-wide basis. Both companies work tirelessly to help the community.
However, the reason for my post isn’t about a company, or where or what they represent. It is about a disease called Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that can affect anyone :
“Multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide. ” (courtesy of Walk MS 2015).
April 26th, 2015 is this year’s date for its local Fundraising efforts. I think that all of us knows someone who suffers from this disease, and hopefully together, we can all come together to either donate and/or participate in this worthwhile event.
