Make A Wish Foundation & Sweet Grass Grill !

Oh my! What a strange  heading!  However, I did not know quite how to best express my thoughts yesterday evening. Sonny Vitaj of Exit Realty had hosted a wonderful event on September 14th, 2016,   his first Exit Realty Make A Wish Fundraiser Gala  which was a huge success.

There were raffles, a silent auction, music, great food and wonderful entertainment at the event, and yours truly was quite fortunate and won several prizes! Oh my!  I shared in part of my bounty yesterday evening with a lovely friend, Bonnie Dugan, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner (and some nice conversation)  at The Sweet Grass Grill in Tarrytown. Bonnie (a Vegan) enjoyed the Butternut squash soup, the Seared Scottish Salmon with a citrus honey glaze  over root vegetable mash, sauteed leeks and chard, while I enjoyed the grilled octopus , and for a main course the Braised short rib with a red wine reduction over creamy polenta, parsnip, carrot and pearl onion. (I am obviously not a Vegan!). We were so busy chatting that no photos were taken of the food but it was delicious. The atmosphere was nice also, casual and as the restaurant states:

“Sweet Grass Grill is a casual restaurant serving local and seasonal food right in the heart of Tarrytown. With relationships with about a dozen local farms, the menu at Sweet Grass Grill varies week to week depending on the daily harvests. Expect seasonal soups and salads and a changing roster of entrees like our signature baby roast chicken and the freshest sustainably-raised fish. The bar, carved out of a single fallen oak tree from the Rockefeller Preserves, features a great cocktail menu, micro brews on draft and bottle, and many wines by the glass.”

Westchester is GREAT!
