Con Ed is now automated so when you are selling your home, a little tip is to close your account the day after the closing date! Reason? If you schedule the termination of service the day of the closing, and the final buyer’s walk through is on the closing day, there is a very good chance they will find no electrical service when they arrive! This then means the attorneys must place some money into escrow until after the service is turned back on, and the electrical outlets, etc. checked!
