Since I live in Paine Heights, I am well aware of our own, local Neighborhood Association. we pay a small fee each year ($55) to help maintain our nine Islands with seasonal, lush flowers – mostly roses, ferns and clematis. One such island was located near a rose-lover’s home, and she would personally plant and tender the abundance of roses on that particular island.
We have a Neighborhood President, but it is all work and no fun for our Martha McCann who painstakingly sends out area news and alerts. She was invaluable with Hurricane Sandy the other year with updates on when we were getting help with our downed lines and lack of power. If there is a found or missing pooch, then an email will go out, and accordingly, if she hears of help being required at the Hope Soup Kitchen in New Rochelle for instance (and they always need assistance and help), or if our local Meal on Wheels Program requires special assistance (I delivered Meals on Wheels every other Sunday for 7 years with my children when they were younger and it was a very rewarding experience), then yet another email is sent out.
We are community conscious and always caring. When we first moved to Paine Heights (named after Thomas Paine), and the children much younger, the big local event was the yearly block party. Barbecue on hand, and with neighbors bringing desserts, salads and side dishes (odd and even numbered houses assigned with various menus), it was a nice way to welcome new people and re-acquaint with older friends.
Living in New Rochelle has always been great. Having a great community is very special also. I have just listed a wonderful home in this great community, 61 Bayeau Road. It not only features the area’s ONLY Endless Pool ® (a resistance pool where you can swim/exercise/frolic at your own speed and pace), but also features 6 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, offers 4219 square feet, has beautiful curbside appeal, and is all located on 0.3996 of an acre!
Come and visit this great Neighborhood.. You will love it!
New Rochelle is GREAT!
