What a treat! My office was invited to visit the Children’s Museum in Rye, New York. Located next to Rye Playland (did you know that membership includes parking in the huge parking lot), and has wondrous views of the beach and Long Island Sound.
Over 80,000 visitors last year alone, we were treated to a guide tour by Sarah Duff, Director of Development and Marketing, and she could not have been nicer! Interested in a great Birthday party? The Museum books in advance, and can accommodate 6 parties each weekend day (Saturday and Sunday). The museum is open daily, 7 days a week from 9-5 p.m., and if you wanted to ‘pop in’ with your child, grandchild, it is $14 per visitor. There are a variety of memberships offered ( discounts offered towards Birthday parties) which are 100% tax deductible too! Price range from $200-250 per year.
While we were there, a school class arrived and enjoyed a science lesson! There were many grandparents along with caregivers, and it truly is well worth a visit. There will be (hopefully) a cafe than can be accessed from the boardwalk, ad which will be pet friendly (since it is outdoors!). Did you know that the beach is a favorite haunt for owners and their dogs!
