I recently posted a blog about the 10 Historic markers in New Rochelle, and featured 5 of them. Here are the remaining 5! The New Rochelle Art Association along the Mayor of New Rochelle, and the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce decided to have 12 historic signs made, and it was decided that they would be located at all of the major access roads to New Rochelle. By 1923, 10 signs had been created.
This sign, designed by Ralph T. Robertson is located on the border of Pelham and New Rochelle on Lincoln Avenue.
Located on Webster Avenue and depicting the Huguenots landing. Created by George T. Tobin.
This sign was designed by Edward Penfield and is located on Boston Post Road near Pelham.
This sign, created by Frederick Dana Marsh (father of James Marsh) is located on Pelham Shore Road.
The Huguenot Ship!
This adorable and final sign was designed by Clare Briggs and is located on Kings Highway, on the Pelham border.
Come and visit, you will love New Rochelle!
