I am embarrassed to admit but I had not visited the Dining Lab at Monroe College. I had heard of it of course, and always wanted to go, but finally a good friend made reservations, and we went on Tuesday evening. With no liquor license, you can bring your own bottle, and the staff are happy to chill the wines for you!
Oh my goodness! The food was superb. The evening started with a mushroom Amuse Bouche, and then we had a choice of appetizers. I opted for the autumn salad with kale, nuts, pomegranate seeds, , and my friend, Debbie (great Speech Pathologist) chose the Seafood Gratinee with squash, leeks and apple.
The entree was quite delicious (and served by the college students). I chose the salmon entree and Debbie chose the pork loin (she said it was very moist).
Well, if we were not yet replete with delectable food, our meal ended with dessert! I chose the pear dessert and Debbie chose the apple dessert. The evening was wonderful, and we had brought a little wine too to accompany the meal. I would strongly recommend going there if you can. Seating is either at 6:45 p.m. or 7 p.m., and you must make reservations!.
