“A Taste of Larchmont” which basically allowed attendees to sip, taste and stroll to various Larchmont Restaurants and establishments with their friends and loved ones while the proceeds from the event benefited “My Sister’s Place“. With donated, expensive items in labeled gift baskets at each restaurant/store whereby all attendees could post their silent auction bid (s), the day was destined for success. There were over 230 tickets sold at $50 each, and the event, headed by Carolyn Fugere, President of the Larchmont Chamber of Commerce, and the Manager of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s Larchmont office, was so enjoyable.
There was a trolley to escort attendees around to each restaurant, and oh my! The restaurants outdid themselves. The Larchmont agents (and Liz Bradley from the Rye Office who worked so very hard, along with Ali Greene, Mimi Magarelli, and everyone from our office), volunteered to be on hand at the different venues with representatives from “My Sister’s Place.”
A delicious pasta dish and wine of your choice was served at Anna Maria’s Restaurant, Amuse Bouche (a great pate featured) with wine or soft drinks at the Encore Bistro, crispy eggplant chips and more wine (oh my!) at Polpettina’s, a wonderful Biryani and chicken dish, tandoori chicken at Coriander Modern Indian Restaurant where you could have (wait for it) more wine or sup on the delicious Indian beers that compliment the spicy foods so well, a hug salad plate was served at Apiary (I heard it was wonderful), and lastly Sherwood’s Restaurant. Joe, the head bartender was on hand to ensure all went well, and what a marvelous job! He oversaw a wonderful presentation to all attendees of spicy wings, succulent ribs, and all served with – (can you guess?) wine, beer or a soft drink of your choice.
It was the perfect place in which to end a wonderful afternoon, and the gift basket on hand at Sherwoods was THE show stopper! The basket featured Yankees Tickets, 4 Guest tickets at Bonnie Briar Golf Club ,a signed Eli Manning Football, a gift certificate and 2 t-Shirts from Walter’s Hot dogs, Giants tickets (great seats too!) and all presented with a 6 pack of beer in a game-day cooler! As we all like to say “Priceless!”
Larchmont is GREAT!
