Well, I never thought I would find fish cooked Cajun style in Mamaroneck, but when this fish store, The Harbour Fish & Company caught my eye, I couldn’t wait to taste the “shrimp Po Boy” and the “Conch fritters” ! The owner could not have been lovelier, and the staff were all eager to please. There is a small counter area where you can dine in the store, and in the limited time I was there waiting for my order, there was one diner enjoying a dozen oysters (at just $18 for the dozen), and there was a steady stream of customers.
You can purchase fresh fish, or simply have it cooked for you and there is a huge selection to choose from such as lobsters, tilapia, flounder, codfish, calamari, shrimp, fried oysters..
My “shrimp po boy” and conch fritters were seasoned to perfection. Very tasty. I love fresh bread, and to me, bread can make or break a sandwich. The roll for the shrimp was huge and fresh, but I would have suggested a French style crustier bread or even an Italian crusty Bastone bread but that is just me and my preferences!
I will definitely got here again, and I am embarrassed to say that it has been open since last November I understand, and yours truly just noticed it!
I wish the Harbour Fish & Company happy sailings.
Mamaroneck is GREAT!
