New Rochelle Humane Society Dog Wash Day Sunday 7/21/2013

There was a steady stream of cars, people with and without their pets at today’s New Rochelle Humane Society’s Dog Wash Day. It started at 10 am and ran until 3 p.m. and today was their 13th annual event. Thank you so much! SO many wonderful volunteers on hand to help man the booths,  wash the dogs (getting so wet in the process), and basically, being wonderful!

We took our pooch (who was adopted from the no kill shelter last June) , and we would like to believe he had a good time.. He socialized a little with the other dogs,  had his shampoo and wash (it was so hot – how could he object to that!), and we even shared a hamburger afterwards from New Rochelle’s greatest hamburger restaurant ( they had a booth today) – AJ’s Hamburgers. NO onion for us thank you very much.. dogs can’t eat them.. but cheese is and WAS all okay!  We even spoke with a dog trainer at a booth (just $1 for 2 minutes!)… great advice – thank you Bobbie Bhambree of Dog Centric.

Christie’s Great Estates and Gay Rosen

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the yearly Christie’s Great Estates Real Estate Affiliates Conference in Manhattan. It was a full day starting with coffee and tea at 8:30 am, and a full day’s program where I not only learned a great deal, but also had the chance to network with Realtors and other Christie’s affiliates across the country and beyond. We had lunch and  ended the day with cocktails. It was very civilized and wonderful!

I also had the opportunity to appear in a Christie’s video – and why not!

New Rochelle Fireworks Display 2013

521213_0493Don’t forget (how could you!) the Fireworks Display tomorrow in New Rochelle!   With the fireworks supplied by the Grucci family, it will surely be its usual success.

Called the The “Spark the Sound”, the fireworks display will start at 9:30 p.m. , and can be viewed from our local waterfront parks.

2013 Fireworks Display – Mamaroneck Harbor

_STO2510Leave early and find a good parking spot! There will be heavy traffic on July 4th for the Annual Fireworks Display at Harbor Island, Mamaroneck.   The fireworks will commence at approximately 9 pm. and will be preceded by a concert at 7 p.m. by the St. Thomas Orchestra.

Fireman’s Parade TONIGHT! Mamaroneck 10543 July 2nd, 2013

DSC02125THE Parade is tonight at 7 p.m. My children when younger loved this event every year..  The Fireman’s Parade can also be viewed on local television.. It is a great time to see our local fireman dressed in their different uniforms, regalia, the marching bands, the history, the older fire trucks, the newer fire trucks.. It is just such a joyous event for the young, and for a family outing … and it all  free!   “Approximately 45 fire departments and companies from New Jersey, Long Island, Connecticut, Westchester, and Putnam Counties.”DSC02124

The parade starts at the Mamaroneck Elementary School and the  marches to Harbor Island Park.. where the Fireman’s Carnival has been in full swing since June 28th, and runs through to July 6th, 2013.

Mamaroneck is  GREAT!
